Three material specs. Matched to service.

Material selection drives service life more than any other decision. Match it wrong and you're refurbishing in five years. Match it right and the tank outlives the facility.

Spec · Water / Process

Fusion-Bonded Epoxy

Epoxy powder electrostatically applied and fused to carbon steel at 425°F. Reliable barrier at moderate cost. Workhorse construction for water, raw water, and process duty. Verify chemistry compatibility before specifying.

  • NSF 61 certified (potable variants)
  • Life expectancy: 20–30 years
  • pH range: 5 to 10
  • Not for digester or acidic service
Spec · Food / Dairy / General

Type 304 Stainless

Bolted austenitic stainless steel — no coating, no recoat, no degradation. Passive chromium-oxide layer is the protection. The default stainless choice for food, dairy, pharmaceutical, and clean industrial service.

  • ASTM A240 Type 304 / 304L
  • Life expectancy: 50+ years
  • Food-grade, FDA compliant
  • Not for chloride-bearing service
Spec · Aggressive / Chloride

Type 316 Stainless

Molybdenum-bearing stainless for chloride-rich, brine, biopharma, and aggressive chemical service. Higher first cost than 304 but the right call any time chloride pitting is a risk.

  • ASTM A240 Type 316 / 316L
  • Life expectancy: 50+ years
  • Biopharma, brine, chemical
  • Bolt & gasket selection critical

Frequently Asked

Answers before you submit.

Fusion-bonded epoxy is the right call for water, raw water, wastewater, and moderate-aggression process service where a 20–30 year service life is acceptable and first cost matters. Stainless is the right call when service chemistry (chlorides, low pH, food-grade, biopharma) demands it, when the lifecycle horizon is 50+ years, or when no recoat over the asset's life justifies the premium. The wrong call — FBE on a chloride-bearing chemical — is how tanks fail in five years.
304 is the default for food, dairy, pharma, and clean industrial service. 316 adds molybdenum, which provides meaningfully better resistance to chloride pitting and a wider chemical-compatibility window. The upgrade pays anywhere chlorides are present (brackish water, brine, seawater, deicing salt exposure, swimming-pool chemistry, certain pharmaceutical processes). If you're unsure, share the service chemistry and we'll spec it.
Instant pricing is order-of-magnitude — typically within ±15% of refined pricing for standard configurations on accessible sites. Variability comes from freight zone, foundation soil conditions, prevailing wage requirements, code complexity (seismic site class, wind speed, snow load), and current steel-market timing. Submission triggers a 24-hour refinement where our engineering team brings the number to a hard quote.
Yes. Every tank ships with PE-stamped foundation, shell, anchor, and accessory drawings. Stamps are state-specific — provide the project state and we'll route through the licensed engineer for that jurisdiction. Standard turnaround for full submittal package is two to three weeks after PO.
Both. We supply tank-only when you've got an erector under contract, and we supply erected when you want a single point of accountability. Coatings, foundations, dome covers, and accessories all bundle. Forensic spec review of existing tanks is also available as a standalone service.
FBE bolted tanks run 16–24 weeks after submittal approval depending on capacity. Stainless lead times depend on plate availability and run 20–28 weeks — longer if 316 plate is constrained in the steel market. We hold domestic carbon steel inventory, which keeps schedule risk lower than offshore-sourced competitors. Submit early if your in-service date is fixed.
